When we say building this station has been a labour of love, that is a mild understatement.
Chris Banks has been on a musical journey since the day he was old enough to tap his fingers or hum along. From his father’s swing and big band 78s to playing in bands in the 60s, DJ-ing in the 80s and taking a more personal music journey through the 90s.
Everything he has learned is wrapped up in this station. The shows are packed with musical knowledge and eclectic connections. And then there are the inputs from the next generation. Family and friends, inspired by his passion, share their own journeys through requests and their own segments.
We’re asking everyone to share 10 songs that ‘made them’ – music with memories and influence that is imprinted on your soul. Why not leave yours in the comments below and Chris will include in his next show!
Happy listening.

Thanks Larry . I will make a show out of these
Did you ever do a show with these?
1 My Way, Frank Sinatra – my father’s favourite
2 Walk Tall, Val Doonican – my first single
3 Carlo, Dafydd Iwan – my mother’s favourite and it is and was funny
4 You’ll never walk alone, Harry Secombe – my father loved this song and both my father and mother liked Harry
5 The Boxer, Simon and Garfunkel
6 Days of Future Past, Moody Blues, these two were the first songs that first really grabbed my attention.
7 Hymns and Arias, Max Boyce – it’s really funny and cheered me up when the Welsh team weren’t doing so well in the 5/6 Nations
8 Piano Man, Billy Joel
9 I want to stay with you til dawn, Judy Tzuke
10 Something in the air tonight, Phil Collins – the last 3 are just because I like them.
Probably not a lot of use to you since some are a bit niche.
